Dr. Thomas Hopkins MD

Thomas. Hopkins, M.D. is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine who is in private practice in Roseville, California, and has been a practicing medicine for more than 25 years. He is a practicing physician affiliated with Sutter Independent Physicians, and Hill Physicians Medical Group, two prominent IPA’s in Northern California. He has served in several leadership positions within these two large organizations, as well as in the community and local hospitals. He serves as Chairman of the Board for Sutter Independent Physicians, an organization of more than 500 independent practicing physicians in the Sacramento Valley region.

Dr. Hopkins wears many different hats. In addition to running a private medical practice, he serves as the Medical Director for Blossomridge Home Health and Hospice. He has served as the Medical Director for Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness, Employee Health Services, and several hospice programs. Dr. Hopkins has served as the Chief Medical Correspondent for KCRA-3 in Sacramento, an NBC-affiliate television station where he delivered television broadcasts on current issues relevant to health and medicine. He continues in this capacity as a medical expert for radio and television outlets including KFBK radio and ABC10 News.

He is a dynamic speaker, and frequently requested to deliver keynote lectures on a variety of health topics. His combination of humor, energy, and ability to translate complex information to practical take home points, is well received by both professional and community audiences. His speaking endeavors have targeted key health initiatives including service excellence in health care, physician and staff engagement, and leadership.

Dr. Hopkins has a keen and genuine interest in improving patient education, increasing health screening and access to basic health care services, and maximizing preventive strategies to preserve health and reduce disease. His

areas of expertise include bariatric medicine, and he has a special interest in preventive health care and population health management.

Over the past 3 years, with the change in legislation around CBD regulation, he has been actively engaged in utilizing CBD products in the treatment of common medical conditions including pain, sleep disturbance and generalized anxiety. His goal is to bring CBD products and its derivatives into the realm of mainstream medical therapy to improve patient outcomes and overcome the stigmas associated with CBD use.
